The various Glowpeople all hail from different backgrounds (and quadrants of the West Midlands). Each musician brings to the collective a very different set of influences and attitudes. These mix into this eclectic free jazz and dub zoo of sounds we generate. We do play live - and are continually looking for interesting places to turn up and play. If you happen to be a promoter or just fancy having us along to play at a bonkers party, just drop us a line.
L I V E: 2 0 1 3 June 21st - 23rd, 2013: Sonic Rock Solstice, Builth Wells, Wales This will be a proper old school festival, with stalls, camping and the whole shebang, but with the two main stages and the bar and catering facilities all within giant cattle sheds. No, there won’t be any cows or indeed evidence’ of said cows to step in. July 26th - 28th, 2013: Kozfest, North Devon We’re looking forward to hooking up with lots of friends we made last year, that we’ve only been keeping touch with online. Please note; tickets for this festival sold out very quickly. We strongly recommend anybody deliberating over this one to stop such silliness and get it together, sharpish! September 6th - 8th: Onboard The Craft Festival, Worcestershire Stoke Prior, near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire will be the new outer space place for the festival we played in 2012, up in Derbyshire. The promoters will be keeping to the same set up; outdoor camping with indoor stages, stalls and facilities. Some top names from classic psychedelic rock history are booked to be rubbing shoulders with young groovers And, everything from psy-dance genres to blues to well, whatever we feel like bringing to the table and playing that weekend. It’s organised by the same team behind Sonic Rock Solstice and several other popular underground rock events, Dr. Hasbeen and that loveable team of extra terrestrials. Expect friendly faces, good ales and food and space aliens more than likely. September 27th - 29th: Something Else In The Dean, Forest Of Dean - more to be confirmed - keep connected!
'Things...' is a nice object to perk up many a dreary CD collection. To help fund our travels we have put together a CD of some of our recent recordings. While this is essentially a DIY affair, we thought if a thing’s worth doing it’s worth overdoing. So, seizing the collective enthusiasm for the project we have released our debut album Things’. It’s available on CD and download on Amazon via our UK record company Specky Records and, in the States by mail order and as a Bandcamp download from LA based underground groovers Cosmic Primitive Records. Of course, if you find yourself at a Glowpeople gig we will have a few to sell, too. ![]() Bass: Robot Keyboards & Digital Effects: Chris Cordwell Trumpet, Guitar & Digital Effects: Chris Hill Drum Kit & Acoustic Effects: Nick Raybould
